EDPR STRENGTHENS ITS OFFSHORE POSITIONS

The consortium composed of EDPR and ENGIE became partners in a long-term contract for difference (CfD) for the supply of 950 MW of offshore wind power in the United Kingdom. EDPR and ENGIE are jointly promoting the project, located off the northeastern coast of Scotland. After the conclusion of the development phase and the selection of all partners and suppliers for the various construction and operation phases, the project will advance towards construction. It is slated to be completed and enter into service in 2022.

Months later, EDPR approved the new composition and areas of responsibility for the executive committee in order to address challenges the company is facing, such as the fulfillment of objectives from its business plan and related to the growing importance of the offshore wind business. As part of this organizational restructuring, João Paulo Costeira was named COO for offshore and CDO of EDPR.
